Accessory Apartments: An Assonet Addition
Accessory Apartments are like Additions but with one notable difference, they have a kitchen in them. Additions can have bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms, etc., but as soon as you add in a kitchen it becomes an Accessory Apartment.
One current project we are working on now is an Accessory Apartment in Assonet, MA.
The client was looking to have the Apartment added on to their house for their family who was moving back with them.

I realize I haven’t had a ton of time to jump online here to update the blog as there have been many aspects to our business that have started to grow. So I just wanted to take the time upon coming to a close in 2016 to reflect a little on the past year as well as mention some things that I haven’t been able to cover in past posts this year.
Continue ReadingArchitect + Fantastic Clients = Amazing Houses
Finding the right client who understands not only the process for construction but has an appreciation for the level of detail in design to craft a fantastic house … is – well – ideal!
We are excited to have been contacted by a great couple that found us off our Houzz.com profile.
We responded immediately as we typically do and after an initial consultation that SAME DAY, our estimate and bid as well as responsiveness, energy and passion for 3D and sustainable design had ultimately won the client over.
Continue ReadingProjects, More Projects And A Flea Market!
Excited to announce we are seeing a lot more inquiries into design and drafting Services lately. I can only assume that after about 2 years of establishment the name is finally getting out in the market as we receive many referrals from either past clients or networking events.
Some online requests have also followed from our Houzz page and Yelp as well.
Continue ReadingNewton, MA 3rd Floor Renovation for Master Bed & Bath
We have been working with a client in Newton, MA on developing a plan to renovate their existing 3rd floor into a new master bedroom and bathroom. The challenge is that the old space upstairs is really an odd combination of low roof slopes, stairway and wall placements.
To top it off the zoning regulations will be critical in reviewing to maximize the potential square footage they are allowed based upon Floor Area Ratio and the limitations they set on a single family residence zoned not to exceed 2.5 stories.

Its official, we wrapped up our very first home show this past weekend. Overall we saw a great turn out and got to speak with many interested homeowners, business owners and developers.
What was great about exhibiting at this year’s New England Home Show in Boston at the Seaport World Trade Center was being able to quickly showcase our Services to those who were interested and feature our Portfolio of projects as reference.
Continue Reading8TFive Studio Business Plan Interview
For the second year we have revised and submitted our business plan executive summary to Charrette Ventures Group’s (CVG, now AVEC) 2016 Architecture Business Plan Competition.
This is a great venue to continue to develop and stay on-top of business strategies for the firm. Sort of a kick in the butt from other tasks that get put on the shelf for “when I have time”.
Continue ReadingDonated Office Foosball Table to Non-Profit
After many foosball matches and two office tournaments at an old firm up in Boston, we picked up the table upon hearing they were relocating to a new space and didn’t utilize it much anymore.
With help from a few employees we disassembled the sturdy wooden legs and rolled it out to the parking garage. We then delivered the table to a local non-profit organization in Brockton.

Gearing up for the exhibit at this year’s 2016 New England Home Show in Boston.
Our new exhibition booth has arrived which features two 40″ TVs which we will be using to display not only our Portfolio of work thus far but also an animation featuring the process for conceptual design through to construction documentation.
If you are interested we will be using, for years to come, the Truss Booth from Displays2Go.
Continue Reading2016 New England Home Show Architect Booth #801
