Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

We were referred to a new client in Acushnet, MA who was looking for an architect to assist in the planning and design of a new in-law suite. Once they knew more About Us, we got working.
As an accessory apartment to the existing single family dwelling the building codes were clear on the restrictions that took precedent. However, through some design exploration and consulting with the building department, a plan was crafted to maximize space between the existing home and suite.
Conceptual Collaboration
We utilized our Houzz profile to collaborate and assemble possible images. These images help inspire and inform the client’s understanding for what a loft space could be.
What we love about some initial examples and discussions during schematic design is being able to get a better sense for the client’s style, preferences, lifestyle, etc.
Subsequently, these early meetings can set the tone for the extent of design exploration.
Design Option A
Using our Building Information Modeling practices for all our Residential projects, we can easily showcase multiple options for consideration and comparison.
Design Option B
Alternative designs can quickly be presented in 3D visuals as part of our usual Services we offer our clients. Then this seamlessly continues into development and construction drawings.

Also this is part of our regular design effort and has been of huge value to our clients. Additional services are also available if clients want to have animations and a virtual walk-through.
